Dear Haiku Fans,
In order to make the Haiku Project a bit more transparent to everyone,
we have decided to publish a summary of the weekly admin meetings held
every Monday at 6:00PM US EST.
This summary is for informational purposes only, and it is meant to give
you a snapshot of what was discussed, and the decisions that were made
at each meeting.
Enjoy!
Jorge Mare (a.k.a. Koki) on behalf of
The Haiku Admin Group

TOPICS & SUMMARIES
# Admin meetings summary disclosure
* The disclosure of admin meetings summary for informational purposes
was approved.
* Starting with this meeting, a summary is scheduled to be sent to the
Haiku mailing list every week.
# WalterCon 2006
* The hotel where WalterCon will be held is to be decided before long
* Progress has been made in securing sponsorships for the conference
* Some special events were discussed (to be disclosed at a later date)
* The attendance of a couple of core devs was approved
* All details of WalterCon to be officially announced soon
# New website progress
There was consensus that Waldemar, Petter and Gavin are working together
nicely, and that both organization of content and redesign of front page
are moving in the right direction. Progress will be monitored closely.
# Icon Contest
* The "Best Rated Icon Set" certificate design was approved.
# Financials
* A proposal to subject expenses higher than a certain amount to
approval by the admins was made, and discussed. No decision could be
reached on this topic, and will therefore be discussed again in a future
meeting.
# Marcom team
* Petter Holt Juliussen joining of the marcom team was approved.
# Haiku Meetings
(Special thanks to our friend Joe B. of Irvine, CA, who suggested this
idea.)
* The concept of "Haiku Meetings" was introduced & discussed
* The idea is to set a fixed monthly date and time for meetings to be
held, and let community members initiate the meetings at their locations
of choice. The initiators email the location of their meeting, and Haiku
publishes a list the meetings on the website for everyone to see. After
each meeting, the initiators will be requested to email the results of
meeting (number of attendess, topics discussed, etc.) to Haiku; Haiku
may choose to publish some of this content in some form.
* This idea was received well, and will be further explored for future
implementation.
============================================
