Don't worry. I know what I'm doing. I have quite good knowledge of Vesa since 
my demo coding days. In Vesa 3 you can 
usually do a lot more than you wrote. And I'm not changing the boot code for 
resolutions, in fact I'm reimplementing

As well as passing in EDI for Vesa, now that the above is fixed:

From my scan of the involved code, and my knowledge of Vesa (and some vm86) I 
don't see that I'm on the wrong track.
