IIRC, the file /etc/default/grub is for the options (like screen
resolution).
And like luroh said, to add an entry to the grub menu you must edit a script
in
/etc/grub.d/.

Yeah, that's crap, the configuration is split in multiple places.
That's a very logical setup worthy of GNU/Linux. ( I'm sorry to feed the
troll. :p )
