Um, those are i686/x86. Brian would be referencing support of regular
Pentium and the like.

The problem with several of the Pentium platforms is they had non-standard
USB implementations. Also, I've run into several cases of illegal bios and
bad chipsets. IMHO I don't really think the problem is so much code
support. From an organizational perspective, I would not want to provide
help support for these devices.
I agree that some of the older computers are not worth supporting. As promised in my message on Saturday, I installed Haiku on a 1.2 GB hard-drive with Haiku as the only partition on the drive, and tried booting it. The boot failed just like it did when I tried booting from the 20 GB hard-drive. In addition, these two old computers appear to have a non-standard USB implementation, since Zeta 1.21 does not recognize my USB flash drive which it does recognize on other newer computers. Thus, I think that many of these old computers are not worth supporting.
Also, from a power consumption point of view is it really wise to run such
older systems? The poor amount of computing power to electricity usage
seems to justify the cost of getting something a bit better. I personally
got rid of my Pentium systems for that reason. As for my Pentium II? I'm
still deciding.
