[openbeos] A question about device drivers

Hi folks,


What's the status on the driver side of Haiku?

In particular:

How much of the most commonly used hardware is supported today?
Does it require _specially_ crafted drivers or can for instance existing Linux drivers be ported easily?

Also, I was wondering about that new BIOS-thing called EFI... will the lack of device drivers be mostly a non-issue for any alternative OS in the future (once they support EFI)? So that, if I buy a brand new PC that supports EFI instead of BIOS (and once Haiku has EFI support that is) I dont have too worry about lack of drivers at all?
