HaikuPorts runs Trac using FastCGI because of the lack of mod_python on
Dreamhost servers. Fortunately, there is quite a lot of documentation on
installing Trac on DH. Nevertheless, it took a lot of sweat and tears to get
it running. But it seems to be running fine now. Of course, that is no
guarantee that dev.haiku-os.org will run fine with FastCGI.

From my initial research, DH would not be a feasible solution for our
trac installation.

I was not suggesting dev.haiku-os.org was moved to DH. I would try running Trac using FastCGI on the current server instead to find out whether mod_python has anything to do with the crashes.

But it would probably be better to first debug the Trac plugins and update Trac before doing tests with FastCGI or SQLite.

Over the next week or so, i'll try to look into researching a
dedicated VPS. Granted, this will most likely cost money, but IMHO it
would be money well spent.

It will not make the crashes magically disappear though :)
I assume the plan is to do a fresh Trac install on the new server?
