first, i dont have list-admin rights for [haiku], [haiku-development],
nor [haiku-web].
So these can be considered drafts for the time being :)
second, /node/2517 does not yet have an alias aka an human readable
path name.
How does http://www.haiku-os.org/community/ml-etiq sound?
All of these blurbs would be good for the [Welcome File / Intro File]

Greetings and welcome to the [haiku] mailing list!
This list exists to aid in the discussion of Haiku, the operating
system and third-party software for it[0].
As this is a general mailing list, there are little to no restrictions about
the topics that can be posted. While some content may be more appropriate at
one of the specialized mailing lists, it is not required to use them[1].
Most importantly, please take a moment to review our mailing list etiquette[2].

Greetings and welcome to the [haiku-development] mailing list!
This list exists to aid in the discussion of programming Haiku, the operating
system and third-party software for it[0].
Questions about porting software to Haiku could be posted here. Although,
HaikuPorts-dev may be more appropriate[1].
Questions about building Haiku from source are better suited at the [haiku]
general mailing list[2]. The rationale is that you are using Haiku's build
system, as opposed to developing it.
Most importantly, please take a moment to review our mailing list etiquette[3].
