This would be the same whichever solution is chosen. But you don't have to
use Zope's http server. It runs fine as a cgi process if required.
In fact Zope is a wonderful integration platform. I work for eGenix.com
which produces the mxODBCZopeDA - an ODBC driver for Zope. Most of the
customers are using Zope to integrate existing systems.

Will do my best - for Zope there is going to be little or no change to
source, simply customisation.
Trac is more difficult as my data model is significantly different to the
default so I think it will be difficult to see my changes integrated in
Trac. However, if Tic can help me to get Trac to run on Zope, we'll be
counted as heroes.

Zope is relatively low maintenance in my experience. I am less experience in
general system administration and particularly as a DBA and tuning the the
RDBMS is often very important.
