I doubt that there is a need for reST if we have a nice WYSIWYG editor.
Why would one care to learn yet another syntax? Maybe it's faster to
enter text this way, but it's very difficult to create a decent design
and there is a break between "viewing" and "editing" a text. This makes
it harder for others to edit your page and it's harder to navigate a
page, in general. Also, if the editor has, for example, key combinations
then there is no need for learning reST, at all. Power-users can learn
key combinations and the others can just click on nice icons.
I've moved some items (including reST) to the "To Consider" section. I
hope you don't mind. reST probably only means more work for no gain,
IMHO, and I thought that Charlie made it clear that this is not the way
we want to go...maybe it's just too fashionable. ;)
Bye,
Waldemar
