Well I'm quite new to xhtml, and so i checked out the link included in
the userguide pages (http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml) because I thought it
was something like the xhtml guidelines. Now I've been reading lots
about xhtml (my pages will all be validated by w3c) and I don't know
what that link means really. Anyway, it is after the Doctype call,
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"
"../welcome/html-dtd/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"
<http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml%22>; lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">
If it is supposed to be a link to the xhtml recommendation, the link is

I'm only working with XHTML for the user guide; strictly on a "need to know" basis. In
this case, I decide I don't need to know the details. :)
I suppose it's a marker what version of XHTML this document exactly abides to. It's been
in all tutorials and howtos and passes validation. So, that's enough for me...
I don't know if further investigation is warranted, but go ahead if it
intrigues you. :)
Thanks again, I'll be posting my progress in about a week I would think.
The USB memory stick section is over now, I'll be starting the building
from source section (which is going to be long because of all the OSes I
have to cover).
Great!
But you did get our current "installing.html" I re-translated and mailed you two days ago,
right? It may have been a good starting point for fleshing out.
I'm right now trying to get an uptodate version of the user guide into SVN...
BTW, before a topic gets too long, think about splitting it into several
shorter pages.

Humdinger
