Indeed, I have had such problems with the GLTeapot diff you posted earlier. 
The patch process would sometimes not delete lines, and delete others 
instead. Personally, I don't know much about diff and patch, only learned 
the little I know very recently. My best experience is with using "diff 
-ur" to create patches (produces the same format as "svn -diff"?), but 
others might want to share their insights. The problem might also be that 
different developers have different environments, I am using BeOS R5 almost 
100% of the time, so what I said might only apply to that environment.
