Well said, Adrien.
While I do completely agree with the sentiment, I think we should
leave it a first-and-last warning to waddlesplash not to make such
impacting decisions without consulting the dev-list. He's one of the
most active people on IRC and having him as op makes sense. Removing
him from op won't show us if he's learned from this incident.
So, -1 from me.
Big decisions like this should never be done alone, you should understand
this as an #op and a commiter.
However I agree with Humdinger, a warning should be enough this time.
-1 for me, but restore #haiku. It is where new people come to talk, so it
should be as low bar to entry as possible.
