I've had lots of positive feedback so far :-) This is the first big -1
For a start, I've always just used BeZilla to access the forums -- even
NetPositive is fine in a pinch. However the new site *rejected* my
BeZilla access -- too old!
I'm pretty sure you would have issues with Drupal 7/8 as well.
If we could stay on Drupal 6 forever we would, however things are beginning
to enter a dire state. No more security patches, all the modules are breaking
down.. eventually it'll be overrun with spammers pushing diet pills destroying
a 12 year archive of awesome BeOS + Haiku conversation, debates, and ideas.

I've seen countless references that the drupal 6 -> 7 migration is a nightmare.
Site admins seem to be "recreating sites" to do the migration. (there are major
schema changes involved)
If you're willing to fork Drupal 6 and take on timely security patches, fixing
broken
modules, squashing bugs, *and* combating the insane amount of spam it is
attacked with on a daily basis, then we might be able to remain on it for a
while
longer. (until you grow bored of it, then what?)
WebPositive seems to get in OK, but as it is it looks terrible.
As for the site looking off in WebPositive... we're missing some web fonts.
PulkoMandy mentioned it is something we need to fix anyway... we
see the same issues with github and a large number of other sites we use.
Other than the missing web fonts, the forum is functional in WebPositive and
isn't
*that* bad.

And when I went in to a topic, I didn't see the
actual discussion -- just the original question!
That's expected.
The import is still actively running and has a good 3-4 hours left.
(I had to re-run it due to a bug in my orignal import code.) My number one
goal is a solid + accurate preservation of all users, threads, and reply's
over the last ~12 years. Discourse will even archive functional images
linked in posts to ensure they continue to function for years to come.
[Sites which don't try to accomodate all browsers are one of my
pet hates... Providers like the BBC, Wikipedia and Google know
better.]
The issue isn't providing support for all browsers, the issue is
supporting browsers made within the last 5 years.
I get it, however web standards advance. HTML5, WebSockets, CSS,
browser notifications. We're not talking about the site requiring IE to
function, we're talking about needing a browser (any browser) developed
within the last 6 or so years.
