That was the general opinion on the IRC channel when I brought it up.
Porting zfs is the way to go, then.

BTW, I thought Haiku as an organization was not too keen on having GPL
code in the default builds? What makes btrfs okay as a possible future
filesystem?

The GPL specifically excludes the kernel from any viral effects on the userland. Otherwise you could not ship any propriatary apps on a Linux system. Distributing a GPL btrfs on a Haiku image means the Haiku kernel has to be made available on GPL terms, and the MIT license is compatible with that. It would not affect other applications, though, as would be the case when for example turning on GPL-only features in the FFmpeg plugin.
