As pointed out by Richard, I believe the problem exists when building gcc2 as well - which prevents people from creating a binary-compatible version of Haiku on a gcc4.3.x host. I'm guessing we should probably just look into the gas compile issue and patch the offending code at this point. Unfortunately I'm not that person, and I don't even have this gcc on my host, so I just wanted to raise the issue so that others are aware of it :) - Urias
