Not sure I would include it even if it was ready... it seems like
overkill to include by default in an OS that doesn't really rely on it
for anything. AFAICT, it's only truly useful to Haiku's development
for porting software at this point?

IMO, the best reason to even include all the development tools by
default in the Alpha release in the first place is to encourage
developers to try it out :) Otherwise, in the final release (or even
beta releases) I would suggest that the dev tools become optional (not
installed by default) during the installation process. Perhaps that
would also be a good time to include Python, as an optional package
for those who really need it.

All IMO of course, since I'm not really involved in the development
aspects much.
