Once Haiku is officially alpha, I will do my best to introduce it to computer science depts in the universities in my area...hopefully others will 'evangelize' too. :) A good UI should solve problems and not just 'show off' (i.e marketing). IIRC there used to be an introduction on the website that listed at least 3 that Haiku wanted to solve: most people have problems with 1) too many cluttered icons on their desktop, 2) installation of apps is more complicated that it should be (http://www.haiku-os.org/glass_elevator/rfc/installer) and 3) window management.
