I just noticed some minor stuff:

The hands are not properly centered anymore. To compile it on gcc I had
what do you mean exactly? centered to the mouse? Four the hour hand it is because it depends on the minute hand and I the minute hand depends on the second hand. I will see if there is a better solution...

Hm strange I compiled it on ubuntu and on R5 without problems...

I just use the range ckeck which was implemented before. But your are right I don't like it too.
a year it will always switch to 2000 and up. Maybe it should preserve the first part of the century.
The range is only from 1970 to 2037. Why you want to enter a year smaller 2008 !? Get the real R5 feeling? ;-)
