Because it reduces the size taken up to about 15px rather than 60-80px,
and then we have a way to add even more functionality to the window (e.g.
move Save Report into same menu, change the button to Report Crash, and
send results to some crash reporting server automatically, as Richie
mentions above.)
Really what I'm arguing here is "we just added another button to a dialog
that already has 3 buttons, and that will confuse users even more", and
moving it to a submenu makes it more obvious such options are only for the
advanced users or users being directed by an advanced user.
Users should never see this dialog anyway, if we do things right ;)
-1 to adding extra complexity to the dialog by indirecting things through a
dropdown menu, That would be useless extra clicks and no added
functionality. The way it is now, there are 4 clear options to chose from,
and if users are confused by a dialog with 4 buttons, I'm not sure what we
can do, but a dropdown with 4 entries certainly isn't the way to go.
I do plan to request users to click that button, when the usual text based
report file isn't enough to tell what's going on and fix the bugs. It is
important to have it easily available. If we later get a way to automate
the report subñissin process, we can change the dialog again, but right
now, we don't have any such thing.
