must have lost my brain somewhen between the years ;-) but how again do I make Terminal to remember its window position?

I think it doesn't remember it, only the size if you explicitely tell it to. But I think it should. IMHO, it should simply popup at the size/position of the last closed Terminal.

Unrelated but also of interest to me is the question whether its planned to integrate the UI patch discussed in the forum thread "Haiku UI look patch" into the official sources?

I for one am not generally opposed to that, but there was some stuff pointed out which could be improved. The last screenshots I saw were not consistently applying a new style, which I would regard as unnecessary (albeit temporary?) change for the worse. If there has been an ongoing discussion in the forum thread, with an updated patch, I am not aware of it and I would assume that many other core developers are not aware as well. No time to follow forum threads, sorry.

And finally, what is the stage of the toolchain on Ubuntu 8.10 (32bit install)? I need to be able to build a hybrid GCC2/GCC4 system. Currently at least the GCC4 doesn't work, the configure script fails. If needed I can provide details.

Yes please do at least post the error.

Best regards,
-Stephan
