Heh, we are used to used, "thanks" to other OS-es :) withinstallation/deinstallation procedure, instead simple unpackaging.

In those OS-es you never "move" apps.

What about different versions (rather apps) - those will work, as installer for each one just adds its own path to components with install procedure. And also notice, that you shouldn't/cant run two instances of same mozilla-app at same time. By design and security rules.

 IMHO most proper way at the moment is to modify install script existing
 in Mozilla distro - so it asks place to install and modifies
 UserSetupScript with EXACT/full paths to app dir, instead using %A.
 something like:
 */apps/Firefox/components


That would cause Firefox to stop working when you move the
Firefox-dir. Also you wouldn't be able to have different versions of
Firefox or even other Mozilla-products and be sure they are using the
right libs.
