Sounds nice! I think it's best to find someone you can usually send
your patches to this driver, and who puts it into our repository,
creates the necessary Jamfiles, etc.
I would volunteer to take over that job; I'm usually just a bit busy,
so it may not always work out as fast as one would want. Having said
that, I'd welcome everyone else to take it over, too :-)
It has been over 3 weeks since I sent the source files for the S3 Savage
video driver to this mailing list, and at this point I have received
nothing indicating that someone is planning to put them into the source
repository nor have I seen any changes to the S3Savage source files in
the repository.
Does this project have any interest in this driver? I am well aware
that the Savage video chips are not "state of the art"; however, there
are people that have computers with these chips. When I posted a
message about the driver on the general Haiku mailing list in April
asking if anyone was interested in testing the driver, four replies were
quickly received asking to test it; and after testing it, they were
very satisfied with it. It should also be noted that this driver is a
great improvement over the BeSavage drivers available on bebits.com.
Regards,
Gerald
