I am a long time Ruby developer and I fully intend to be sure Ruby is
well supported on Haiku, whether it be in the form of the original
Ruby interpreter or the newer interpreters like Rubinius or JRuby (for
the latter we need Java support first.) Let me know if anyone has
trouble getting patches accepted or whatever, as I know a lot of the
core Ruby people.

Yes I agree this is the best approach. As Ingo says a pure Haiku port
would be cleaner and since Haiku is the future of BeOS-like operating
systems I think this is the way to go.
