It won't work by just updating the kernel binary, because I had to 
change the thread data structures etc. which is also used by some other 
parts of the system. If you don't want to update your system, you could 
try to build a complete anyboot-image with the patch applied, and boot 
that from an USB stick.. if you still get a KDL then, please tell :)
