ATM I don't see much point in changing the development model (I'm open to 
good arguments, though). However, that does not mean that we cannot move to 
a distributed VCS nevertheless. svn has annoying issues with merging, which 
the discussed tools don't, and the distributed VCSs come with nice 
additional advantages (local repositories).
