Hi guys,
Wow, it's been quite some time... :-)
Welcome back!
Bye,
Axel.
Hi Axel,
Yeah, life has a habit of distracting us from what we really want to be
doing ... :-) For about half the last 5 years I didn't even have
broadband, so that changed things a lot. It's nice to see the progress
being made on Haiku. Only took me two days to get a working build, and I
have to say I'm a bit rusty on this platform.
Got a few bugs to report while I'm typing away here. I still don't have
Trac access, so maybe someone can copy/paste them in and blame them on me.
1. home/config/boot and the sample files in this directory are all
missing from the build. (easy)
2. The Terminal won't print a tilde character. Typing 'cd ~' still
works, you just can't see the tilde. (easy)
3. Package installer only opens half-way. To see what's going on you
have to click a little set of dots on the left, which isn't very intuitive.
OK, that's all I've got for today. Now I can screw up that bit of paper
I've been scribbling all this down on.
Oh yeah, I also have a repackaged jam.zip that can actually build the
repo code under BeOS, so if anyone wants it to update the website let me
know where to email it. The one that's on the website now hits a limit:
Archive actions too long (max 20480)!
Bye,
Rob (haiqu)
