That's the whole point of the branch. Freezing the trunk would be pretty 
annoying, since everyone with an unsuitable change would have to create a 
branch. Or at least a common branch for all post-r1-alpha1 development, 
which is basically the same strategy as creating a release branch with the 
difference, that this way around the branch would have to be merged back 
into the trunk after the release.
