Good Evening! I would like to open up the conversation on the topic of getting commit access. There are several projects I think would benefit from a fresh set of eyes. I have been in the community for quite a few years, below is a condensed list of contributions: * Long time bug submitter: https://dev.haiku-os.org/query?status=assigned&status=closed&status=in-progress&status=new&status=reopened&reporter=kallisti5&order=priority * Google summer of code mentor 2010 for IPv6 support * Commits referencing my name/handle: https://dev.haiku-os.org/changeset/29804 https://dev.haiku-os.org/changeset/31708 https://dev.haiku-os.org/changeset/32067 https://dev.haiku-os.org/changeset/36770 https://dev.haiku-os.org/changeset/37757 https://dev.haiku-os.org/changeset/39731 https://dev.haiku-os.org/changeset/39732 https://dev.haiku-os.org/changeset/40103 Here are one of my larger (external) side projects ( USB wimax hardware driver ) https://github.com/kallisti5/usb_beceemwmx Here are future goals I hope I receive from gaining commit access: * migrate my WiMAX USB hardware driver into the tree under add-ons/kernel/drivers/network/wimax/usb_beceemwmx as an experimental (not in default build profile) driver. I feel the large amount of work done thus far on this driver is of high quality, and shows my ability to follow the coding standards. * Begin initial work on a new Network preference applet. The current network preference applet is lacking, create a new generation network preference applet parallel to the existing one using the mock-ups from the gci. I hope you guys feel I can be a valuable contributor to the project. I know my limitations, and am aware what I am capable of and what I am not capable of. If the general consensus is that I wouldn't be a valuable contributor at this time, it wouldn't impact my opinion of Haiku or my drive to provide input to the project. Thanks! -- Alexander von Gluck IV
