There's two different clocks in Vista: one that's used in the
date/time preferences, which doesn't have the overshoot/correct
behavior, and the sidebar gadget, which does.  The sidebar gadget
seems to overshoot by nearly a full second; I chose a half-second for
this patch, but could probably get away with less if a more subtle
effect was desired.

now that you mention it, of course i had to turn on the seconds bar. :)

While i like the windows sidebar, i wonder if we couldn't rip off the Analog Clock from time prefs into an desktop replicant (maybe in combination with the calendar as replicant too)? Then it should be possible to have some more advanced options, like the overshot, turn on/off seconds bar etc.

Would that be an good start for you?
