I am not a programmer myself, so it would be up to the devs whether they
think this is something they would like to pursue (at this time). In the
meantime, these documents on attributes for People and Email files may
be a good reference for you:

Not that these documents are official (they are proposals that were
never actually sanctioned), but at least they would allow you to
familiarize yourself with BFS attributes.
