The difference is that those other OS's have associated themselves
with the image for so long that it's ok to just drop the name and just
go with the image. You see the 4 colored flag and the response is "ah!
Windows!" It's on the box and all promotional material.

Is the same true with the leaf? Does it make you say "ah! Haiku!" I
don't see that leaf at all on the website or anywhere.


All the more reason to actually reinfornce the brand recognition.
But, uhm, no offence everyone, but this is most likely the biggest non-discussion ever on the m-l. Let's try and meet the goals for the alpha release, we can always hold a lengthy 5 committee debate on the logo-or-text-on-the-menu-button issue afterwards. The world might just keep on spinning anyway.
