And please, no minimize button. Having one button to the right and one to the left of the title is straight forward. Adding a third button may lead to a different confusion. Quite a few people I know that aren't using computers often keep confusing the minimize and maximize buttons in Windows. As there are even three buttons up there, one is lucky if they don't accidentally close the window entirely... :) IMO Haiku's tab magic - double-click, right-click, shift-drag and OPT- drag for S&T - are just one thing new users have to read up on or watch tutorials or whatever. How else can you add new features and provide improved usability (IMO) over the established OSs?
