Just a word of caution - in case someone starts
thinking of using the "preferred app" attribute.
I think that application developers should be
discouraged from setting the "preferred app"
attribute of individual files. This attribute
should be left as an option primarily meant for
the user. (+ occasional hacks)
Such attributes makes it needlessly hard if/when
you need to switch applications and have them open
in some other application.
E.g. NetPositive bookmarks take effort to redirect
to open in another browser, since Net+ sets itself
as the preferred app attribute on -every- bookmark.
That serves no purpose really, as the filetype is
set to open in Net+ anyway.
One way forward is to remove all those attributes,
but if one continues to use Net+ and FireFox side-
by-side, those pesky Net+ owned bookmarks keep
getting created.
