For obvious reasons, I used ZETA for a long time and still does. Aesthetically-speaking, I think the window with the icon looks a lot better than the ones without. And even some applications for R5, like SoundPlay, implemented that for exactly the same reasons we are discussing here.I actually changed the SoundPlay icon to look less annoying... :-)Maybe it would look less bad if the icon would be smoothed and recoloured so that it better fits to the UI colors (like greying it out).
I am *PERFECTLY* fine with that. I am just a screen real-state freak. :)
Anyway, when we try to change our interface in a way like this, I would suggest to add a shared API for creating that menu so that one can easily try "Application" first, and be able to easily toggle between the two. But as I said, if you'll find the time to work on Haiku, there are more pressing issues. Just try and see :-)
I actually havea completelly useless change to commit. That probably shows you what I thinjk about all this. ;)
I agree that there are more important stuff to work on but, again, this is a volunteer-based project. If someone wants to go and make the change, it is up to this person how he/she uses their time.Sure, but without any focus at all, we'll never get any release out of the door which won't help anyone.
So, how about calling a feature freeze and just mark a list of bugs/features that simply must be fixed/implemented for the alpha and just go with that?
