[haiku-development] Re: M2ts format media files, any support for these coming ?

"Looking in via diskprobe it shows mpeg4 x264 AC3 audio format in the file
header in in the ASCII starting around adress 0x17x. Call me confused but I
tried a few other avhcd files and none worked. Haiku shows these as x264
Mpeg4 with ffmpeg encoder from VLC.org site though.is it possible this are
being mistyped?"

AVCHD spec can played in most Blu-Ray players, some camcorders record in
this format. A lot of people rip Blu-Ray discs and compress into this
format. The stream type is MPEG2 and extension m2ts while the video
compression is MPEG-4/H.264.

According to Wikipedia:

Open Source codecs
The following open source codecs can decode AVCHD files:
▪ ffdshow tryouts, revision 1971 May 23, 2008, will decode AVC (H.264)
format video.[76]
▪ libavcodec (part of FFmpeg project) is a codec library that supports
AVCHD. It is used in Jahshaka and Blender, notably.
