In a private mail it was pointed out to me, that these $750 could indeed be raised not only by a measly few hundreds but perhaps thousands if it's a matter of time/money. The past Haiku Code Drive has shown that donations grow proportionally with the perceived goal. And an Alpha is way up there... 
So there, just to clarify.
