And AFAIK there has been no "official" announcement since downloads were deprecated, but everyone who's using Google Code has been holding their breath...
Even if you are right, that problem can be solved by moving haiku-depot-web to GitHub (for example).
I am asking why we need to change anything. "Because its centralized" is not a reason I find convincing just by itself.
