Of that list, only git and python are not yet confirmed to work perfectly,
are they?

Git works nicely for me. Some minutes ago I have posted on HaikuPorts about a shared 'haiku' branch that I believe is ready to be merged upstream. I am also about to package 1.6.0-rc2 for HaikuPorts, so that we could set up an Optional Package.

Python was somewhat usable last time I tried (for Bazaar), but there's still work to do I believe.

Anyway, since Haiku has network support and is able to run wget/ Firefox/etc. users could just download the latest packages from haiku- files.org or ports.haiku-files.org.
