Of that list, only git and python are not yet confirmed to work perfectly,
are they?

I think Niue is a cool project, but I would wait for it to mature some
more. I don't know, maybe one way for it to mature is to get more
exposure... :-D Right now I think it uses the wrong editor (should use Pe
or reuse substantial parts of it), and the interface editor does not
support the new layout management. I don't actually want more encouragement
for hard coded GUIs. :-) I am in contact with Tako though and he seems to
agree on all these points.

I've just given it a spin now and it seems to be useful indeed. I would
wish for more integration with the Desktop though. While it was for example
pretty painless to install lbreakout, and the game works mighty fine, I see
no link to it or it's HTML documentation in the Haiku menu. I am also not
sure about the "version mess" in the libraries, maybe that's unavoidable in
principle, though.

If someone has some time to tackle those, it would be nice, but they should
not hold up the alpha either, IMHO.

I see what you mean. Some of them are about "polish" though, so should not
hold up the alpha perhaps.
