I wouldn't put that in the title, but something a "git log --grep" would find

For previous releases we used a "+alpha4" in the commit message (not in the 
title).


Although the best way to handle this is if one could actually "tag" the 
commit manually without
changing the repository. This way, one could easily remove those, or give 
others the chance to
review them before applying.
Something like what we had for previous releases in Trac, but maybe more 
automated...

May I once again suggest setting up Gerrit?
(I'm ok with experimenting with setting it up myself, but like for the package 
build, I need access to a server where to put it - and I would prefer if 
someone with some sysadmin knowledge would handle such things. People have 
offered help several times already, yet it seems nothing gets done. why is that 
so?)
