[haiku-development] Re: Haiku Kernel Architecture Questions

There is nothing worse that upgrading a Linux kernel only to have it
break nvidia, vmware drivers, etc. Then after you rebuild everything
you get scolded every time you boot that the kernel is tainted. I am
already amazed at the responsiveness of the Haiku GUI, I guess 8 years
of X11 hell have erased the memories of BeOS screaming on a Pentium
II. I was a little skeptical when the project started, about writing
it from the ground up using NewOS and not using the Linux or BSD
kernels, but now I totally agree that it was the right move. I can't
wait for the Alpha!
