Yes I can support Jingle, its easy. The main problem is to support RTP
and have proper Audio/Mic in Haiku.
Also I have RTP implementation for BeOS.
Sounds good! so the main problem is that your sound card is not supported?
Is the RTP problem somehow related to the missing streaming support in the
media kit?
While I'm perfectly fine with jabber I think it should be quite easy to
support protocol add-ons in the gui like Caya does...
The main idea for default messanger is to be as simple as Haiku does.
Thats because I do not want much icons, only color bubles like in
Google Talk, and no smiles - only syntax highlight.
My point was that other protocols should be supported by the gui (or there
should be the infrastructure to do so) They more or less all do the same
and it should be easy to provide a common interface.
I think at least buddy icons are quite helpful because you can recognise
online people even without looking directly at the chat window :)
