Ah, that's a nice feature.. but It's actually bumping the volume UP to
approximately half (from 1/4), and there are no other instances
running, in a fresh image. Don't know if it can be reproduced.

I'm not sure if it's this, though. The volume bar is dark grey (I
thought it was green, or I might be insane, or this might not be the
case for VLC) but still draggable. Almost like it's there but not "lit
up" (If you were to take green as "on" or "there is an audio output
mechanism"). The audio output plugin is blank in preferences.
The sound cut out halfway through the music video with MediaPlayer,
and seeking crashed it, but sound worked in a new instance.
