Howdy *,

There comes a time when you have to call good enough... good enough. I cannot afford to keep putting effort into Haiku without seeing any benefit from doing so, so I do not intend to continue any Haiku related development until such a time as I can see some return on my work. This is not to sound like an ultimatum, but is merely a simple examination of the value of my time and what, if anything, I may see in return for my investment.

My final patch, located here: http://files.looncraz.net/svc/ , includes style corrections even for code that I did not create. I have tried to be as patient as I can be, and have addressed every concern presented to me in a timely and, I hope, courteous manner. I have done this for almost exactly two months now, and have effectively rewritten this patch twice (much of the fault of that is certainly my own).

My patch includes numerous repairs to bugs previously found in the system, and many high-demand improvements for individuals using custom colors schemes and larger font sizes. Its performance is more than an order of magnitude better than the system deployed by Be, INC, and the implementation is significantly more flexible and intuitive. I have rebased the patch repeatedly to keep up with changes made by others, and I have completely edited the commit history as requested.

Finally, I have received numerous e-mails from those who believe I am not being treated in a manner consistent with previous submitters. I can't say that I disagree, entirely, but the issues raised were genuine issues, however often laughingly minor. My only feelings on the matter are that the prioritization is backwards. I would not expect Haiku to accept a patch which does not follow its style guidelines, by no means. However, I would have anticipated that the functional aspects of the patch would be the first item on the agenda, rather than barely being mentioned.

I appreciate everyone who put time in reviewing this patch in its many revisions, and all of you who sent me e-mails over the least couple of months in support of my efforts.
