I have been unable to determine why the ProSavage DDR-K chip returns
garbage, and am not inclined to spend any more time investigating

problem. Thus, I set up the S3 driver to look at the EDID version in
the EDID data, and if it is 0xff, it assumes that the data is garbage
and the data is then ignored.
I think it would be best to fix the EDID code to check the version
number, and bail out if it is not known or supported.
The EDID code doesn't seem to do any validity checks at all, anyway.
Can you change that, or do you prefer I had a look at it?
I will change the EDID code to check for valid data. I will also look
into testing the validity of some other data members in addition to the
EDID version and revision numbers.
Best regards,
Gerald
