Of course. Coming up with these language specifics is part of the i18n 
business. The different style guides in the wiki 
(http://dev.haiku-os.org/wiki/i18n) 
currently focus on the user guide. There should be a section dealing 
with localizing Haiku's GUI.
Maybe people providing the translated strings should join the i18n-* 
mailing lists to work something out. Since contrary to the user guide, 
GUI translation impact many more people much more directly, the results 
of those discussions should be presented on the general Haiku mailing 
list first, before they are realized.
