As Urias said usually the phrase "broke the build" refers to
compilation problems, which are certainly frowned upon.

That can be frustrating. We all get annoyed when things stop working
that worked before. I certainly hate when it happens in released
versions of Ubuntu when something is updated.

Of course we aren't talking about released software here. We are
talking about an in development pre-alpha operating system that you
are building from source code that is continually being changed. There
is no guarantee that every revision will work flawlessly. We do try to
make sure that every revision builds. But if you expect that you
should be able to update and never have problems you need to rethink
things a bit.

What other developers might do in your situation is do a little
research, try to find the problem and then provide a patch or a
suggestion for resolution. So instead of sending accusatory emails
please consider finding the problem and solving it.
