[haiku-development] Re: Buildutils on powerpc

you have the HW; or DO you?
just boot it native with chainloaded grub or ybin.
[hell: OF for that matter, you can specify hd:2 or the like]

easiest method:
boot qemu into the qcow image you create.or even a separate partition if you made it that way.

i know that qemu doesnt have OF, it propietary apple firmware.there was an app i think that did emulate it. sheepsaver?

it does up to tiger i think, but i didnt see the point of emu tiger on leopard.

you can use MOL, but it needs an apple H/W running linux to work, lately haven't had much luck with it, but haven't used it in some time. have to have a dedicated partition to use mol, it might use a file i think if you set it up right.not sure.

MOL has new and oldworld support, as well as OF i believe.

assuming those are build numbers?

Yes, Subversion revisions, they can be looked up, e.g., at http://dev.haiku-os.org/changeset/26583 etc.

some info for those on x86 boxes:

ppc boots with [...]

In my case I'm still far from booting anything (it errors out before even starting a build).

I was hoping to create a bootable disk image like on x86, to see if the latest qemu-system-ppc is able to boot from disk (it fails booting Linux from CD). And QEMU does not have a full Open Firmware implementation to mess with in the ways you seem to suggest.
