I don't really see the need to enter full paths (even though we could
allow the name field to hold a full path), but I think it's a bad idea
to make the file panel accept URIs.
This should only be done on a system wide level with the file panel
benefitting from it.
With regards to VLC, I think a separate window to specify an URI is the
preferred solution.
