Does Haiku have the concept of "toast" notifications?  I'm thinking of
something Growl, Snarl, NotifyOSD or even OS X Notifications does.




They're not a direct replacement but would obviously be a good replacement for
"Media Server stopped", "Media Server started", "Rendering complete"
notifications.

I don't see how this is related. Why can't the application continue to
run in the background, no matter if the user closed it?
